1. Amy gets spiked

Adulthood spells excitement for Amy Barlow (portrayed by actress Elle Mulvaney) as the teen recently celebrated her 18th birthday.

So when her new boyfriend Jacob Hay (Jack James Ryan) suggests they go to a nightclub with her friends after the Valentine's Dance, Amy is ready for a night of partying.

But the evening turns horrifying as Amy not only hits the club, she also hits the floor.

Feeling increasingly woozy upon her arrival, she suddenly collapses as Jacob yells at Asha, Aadi and Summer to call an ambulance.

Jacob does whatever he can to help her and places her in the recovery position.

He subsequently suspects that her drink was spiked.

Hospital reports go on to reveal that Jacob is right on the money - Amy was the target of spiking as traces of GHB are found during blood tests.

Jacob's efforts are far from taken into account as, in Steve McDonald's (Simon Gregson) eyes, he is the only one who can be blamed for the incident.

He orders the young criminal away from his daughter, shocked by her seemingly lifeless body.

This prompts Jacob to tell Steve that he and Amy are together.

Tensions arise between the two but Amy is well on the mend after Jacob's quick reaction, according to a nurse.

Prior to Amy leaving to go to the club, she had been asked to leave the dance alongside her friends when teacher Daniel Osbourne realised they were all drunk.

This could mean that she has been spiked before getting to the club, which could be confirmed by a key witness to the scene.

While the police are investigating, little do they know that Max Turner (Paddy Bever) has a shocking video for them.

2. Adam ditches Sarah

Sarah Barlow (Tina O'Brien) is left alone this Valentine's Day, despite her being targeted by a horrifying intimidation campaign.

In the Underworld factory, the PA receives a call from her solicitor husband Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).

He informs her that he has to cancel their Valentine's date, leaving her alone and fuming on what should be one of the most romantic nights of her life.

Adam has other priorities in his planner which involve an evening with a client, whom he is then seen leading through to a hotel restaurant.

Meanwhile, Sarah parks herself with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and Carla Connor (Alison King) in the Rovers, moaning about her ruined Valentine's Day.

To add salt to the wound, it seems her colleague Lydia Chambers (Rebecca Ryan) has more luck in love than her, despite her being married.

While at the factory, Lydia shows off the sexy lingerie she has received.

She makes out the gift to be from her ex and claims to be confused by all his mixed messages.

But could this be another ruse to tear the couple apart?

ITV viewers know that Lydia has been scheming to make Adam and Sarah's life difficult, lurking in the shadows.

3. Sally feels left out

Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) has been recovering from triple bypass surgery at No.4 with the help and care of his mother Elaine (Paula Wilcox).

But while the duo play happy families, Tim's wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) has been feeling increasingly set aside.

Sally was therefore hoping that romance could make a return for Valentine's Day.

However, when she suggests to Tim they have a naughty game of landlords and tenants, Elaine bursts her bubble.

She points out that her son needs time to relax and that any sexual activity should be out of the question in the meantime.

Sally's night of romance is thrown out of the window and she is furious.
