1000-Lb Sisters’ Amy Slaton takes fans inside ‘messy’ $37K home & says she ‘cried’ after being slammed for cockroaches
AMY Slaton has shown off the inside of her new $37K Kentucky home and admits she's still "messy" after facing fan backlash over cockroaches infesting her old house.
The pregnant 1000-Lb Sisters star, who stars on the popular TLC show with her sister Tammy, shares her new abode with husband Michael Halterman and their 15-month-old son, Gage.
She is now expecting her second child, a boy, in July, and says she's doing her best to keep her home clean after sobbing over the state of her old house, which was featured on the show.
Online trolls hit out at the star, 34, after claiming to have spotted rat poop and cockroaches under Gage's crib when cleaners were brought in during one shocking episode.
A cockroach could also be seen climbing up a wall behind Amy in another disturbing moment at the old house, and fans slammed her dirty mattress.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun, Amy recalled: "When the organizers were there, I cried my eyes out having them see that.
"Now we're here, it is messy, don't get me wrong, but it's a lot cleaner.
"You can walk through every room, except for his [Gage's] room. His room is a lost cause," she laughed.
Asked why her old house was so messy, she insisted: "I didn't have anywhere to put anything, it was so small in that house, and he has a lot of stuff, but you know how babies are.
"I realized how bad it was, I was hurting my child."

She said she's making an effort to be cleaner and buy new items now that the family has relocated.
Exclusive photographs obtained by The Sun show inside her cozy living room and kitchen area at the home in Morganfield, Kentucky.
Although it's nowhere near as messy as her old house, toys are scattered on the floor and empty McDonald's paper bags can be seen piled high on the kitchen table, along with decorations from her gender reveal party.
Amy's new three-bedroom, one-bath home was purchased in July last year after being listed for $37.5K.
Only a 30-minute drive away from her old property, the single-story, 1,584-square-foot house was built in 1960 and has a dark red brick exterior with white trimming.
The modest home includes three bedrooms with wooden doors and floors.
The kitchen includes a sink, stove, and wooden cabinets, while the one bathroom also includes a shower and a bathtub.
There is a backyard with a single tree where little Gage can run around and play.
She told The Sun about moving: "We were driving around one day and we saw the sign and we’re like, 'There's our sign, we need to move'.
"And Gage was always sleeping in the kitchen, I wanted him to have his own room, please don't look at it!" she laughed.
Amy added: "And I knew we were going to have another kid, so I made sure we had enough room for both of them."
When breaking the news to Tammy, 35, that she was moving out of their shared home, she told her: "I just made an offer on a house and they accepted it."
During the episode, Tammy, who struggles with her weight and substance abuse, replied: "Okay. Whatever."
When Amy asked if she would be alright on her own, she responded bluntly, "We'll find out."
In a confessional, Amy said: "Tammy would never admit it, but she wants me to stick around because she's afraid of being alone.
"Last time she was alone by herself, she ended up with pneumonia and ended up on life support.
"But I still gotta do what's right for my family. Gage comes before Tammy, I'm sorry."
NEW CHAPTER
Fans poured into the TLC Instagram page to comment on the drama.
One wrote: "Amy is such a ray of light. She's focused and determined but Tammy keeps making excuses and you can see she's jealous of her sister."
Another commented: "Tammy's thinking, 'Now who the hell is going to take care of me.'"
A third posted: "Amy feels bad for leaving Tammy alone but she needs to live her life for her and her family."
Speaking to The Sun, Amy admitted Tammy can no longer afford a home as she is using every cent to pay her long stint in rehab in Ohio, and is not looking to leave until later this year.
"When she comes out she'll stay with me for a little bit, soon as we find a place she'll go there," she said.
