When is Kate Garraway’s Life Stories on ITV?
LIFE Stories is coming back with a new host, Good Morning Britain's presenter Kate Garraway.
In February 2022, Kate will sit down with celebrity guests for three emotional hour-long conversations.
When does Kate Garraway's Life Stories start?
Broadcaster and journalist Kate Garraway is replacing Piers Morgan as the new host of Life Stories for three new 60-minute episodes.
Kate, 54, has selected a variety of celebrity guests for in-depth conversations about their extraordinary careers and personal lives.
The Good Morning Britain presenter will be sitting down and talking to Welsh singer songwriter Charlotte Church, TV chef and author Nadiya Hussain and footballing legend John Barnes.
The series begins on Thursday, February 3 at 9PM on ITV.
Kate Garraway said: “I’ve always loved having the chance to talk to people, both on air and off.
"Everyone has a story to tell and the wonderful thing about this show is that you have the airtime to delve into the areas of guests lives that the viewers might not know about already.
"It’s also a chance to understand more about the bits we do already know about (both good and bad) and hear it in their own words."
Who is Kate Garraway's first guest?
Welsh singer-songwriter and actress Charlotte Church will be Kate Garraway's first guest.
She will talk about her incredible story of going from childhood opera prodigy to political activist, with many controversies along with the way.
Kate Garraway will also sit down with Great British Bake Off winner, author and presenter Nadiya Hussain to chat about how her life has turned around since she won the ultimate Star Baker prize.
Finally, Kate Garraway's Life Stories will finish on a high with legendary former England left winger John Barnes.
Why did Piers Morgan leave Life Stories?
Piers Morgan announced he is stepping down from the long-running celebrity interview series after presenting it since its 2009 debut.
He is now turning his attention to a new global TV show for talkTV, while Kate Garraway takes over from him in the Life Stories hot seat.
In his last Life Stories interview in December 2021, he handed over the baton to Kate in an emotional conversation about her career and the difficult recovery of her husband Derek from coronavirus.
Piers said: "I can’t think of anyone who I’d rather finish my run with. Kate was a wonderfully loyal colleague during my five years on Good Morning Britain and is one of my favourite people in the world.
"How she’s handled the devastating situation with Derek sums her up. She’ll be as brilliant at Life Stories as she is at everything else."
Kate said: “I’d never try to be Piers. But he did say you’ll be gripping and wonderful in your own right.”
An ITV insider added: “Piers has created a legendary format. Everyone parted on the best of terms and wishes Kate the best of luck.”
