SAMUEL Bottomley has been a regular on our TV screens since he was only nine years old.

In the new Channel 5 drama The Teacher, Samuel appears as teenager Kyle at the centre of an inappropriate encounter with his teacher.

How old is Samuel Bottomley?

Samuel Bottomley was born as Samuel James C. Bottomley in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England.

The actor was born on June 14, 2001, and is currently 20 years old.

He has been acting since he was nine, when he made his professional debut in the 2011 drama film Tyrannosaur.

In 2014, he joined The Yorkshire School of Acting at the Bradford Playhouse.

In 2022, viewers will see him as teenager Kyle in Channel 5's The Teacher, which premieres on January 31, 2022.

The actor said it was a pleasure working alongside co-star Sheridan Smith, who plays the role of Kyle's teacher Jenna Garvey.

He said: “It’s the first time we’d worked together but as soon as I met her, she welcomed me into the cast with open arms.

“We sat down and talked about the characters and the scripts and she never let me feel too nervous.

“We were messing around all the time between takes.

"Everyone had a really good time filming the series and me and Sheridan were always laughing and joking.”

What other TV shows has Samuel been in?

Although he's only 20 years old, Samuel Bottomley has already had his fair share of TV roles.

In 2012, after an appearance in the film Private Peaceful, he started portraying Brandon in the CBBC series Rocket's Island.

He became a familiar face on TV when he appeared as Jordan Wilson in the Channel 4 school drama Ackley Bridge.

In 2021, Samuel played school bully Dean Paxton in the hit film Everybody's Talking About Jamie.

When is The Teacher on Channel 5?

The Teacher kicked off on Channel 5 on January 31, 2022 at 9pm.

The four-part drama will then continue on February 1, 2022 at 9pm.
