DISNEY has hit back at claims its planned remake of Snow White is offensive to dwarfs.

The storm raged after Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage described the live action project as a “f***ing backward story”.

The 52-year-old — who was born with a form of dwarfism known as achondroplasia — believes the movie will reinforce prejudicial stereotypes.

Peter, who played Tyrion Lannister in hit HBO series Game of Thrones, said Disney was not being fair to all minorities.

He said: “They were very proud to cast a Latino actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

“Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me.

"You’re progressive in one way but you’re still making that f***ing backward story of seven dwarfs living in the cave. What the f***k are you doing?

Rachel Zegler, 20, who starred in last year’s Steven Spielberg West Side Story remake, is set to play Snow White.

In a statement, Disney said: “We are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community.”

Paralympic swimmer Will Perry, 21, who has the same form of dwarfism, said: “It’s brilliant to have a look and say, ‘OK let’s consult people with dwarfism, we might have to make some tweaks,’ but I don’t think it should be cancelled.”
