HAPPY Valley first graced our screens eight years ago - and one of its characters looks completely unrecognisable since appearing on the hit series.
Sarah Lancashire portrays police officer Catherine Cawood who is tasked with looking after her grandson Ryan after his mother - who was raped resulting in pregnancy - committed suicide.
Now all grown up, the young lad - portrayed by Rhys Connah - will return for the third season of the critically-acclaimed BBC drama, with filming currently underway.
But after appearing in the show nearly a decade ago as a fresh-faced eight-year-old, the teen looks totally different these days.
Rhys, now 16, received rave reviews for his performances in the first season of the award-winning show.
Since the second series of the drama, he appeared in To Walk Invisible: The Bronte Sisters, which also featured the late Charlie Murphy.
He also appeared in The White Princess, which starred Killing Eve's Jodie Comer, as well as the film The Runaways.
But now Rhys will turn his attentions to Happy Valley once again after the second series attracted an average audience of 9.3million people.
As a result, the first two series each won BAFTA Television awards for both Best Drama Series and Best Drama Writer for creator and writer Sally Wainwright.
