SIMON Cowell was humiliated by David Walliams when he could not recognise the English flag at BGT auditions.
The Little Britain comic yelled at his fellow judge: “You idiot. What country are we in now? England.”
Simon, 62, was shamed when a five-year-old called Charles was showcasing his knowledge of national banners.
The multi-millionaire, who has lived almost entirely in the US for two years, was challenged to a contest with the lad and shown a St George’s Cross.
He said: “Oh, I know that — it’s Switzerland.”
Simon’s response left the Britain’s Got Talent audience at the London Palladium in stitches and Walliams, 50, in disbelief.
The Cross of St George, the national emblem for 800 years, is a red cross on white while the Swiss have a white cross on red.
Simon, engaged to Lauren Silverman, 44, has spent most of his time in America recovering from an accident at his home in Malibu, California.
