CORONATION Street star Jack P Shepherd was forced to call in sick to work after he caught Covid, revealing the symptom that tipped him off.
The actor, 33, has played the role of David Platt on the ITV soap for over 20 years.
But in a warning to others, he admitted he only realised he had the virus - when he was in the shower using a gel gifted to him by his girlfriend Hanni Treweek's mother.
Speaking on the podcast he explained: "I have the vid, it caught me.
"I don't have any symptoms. Nothing. I was in the shower Monday morning and I can't smell the shampoo and I go, 'This is weird.'
"Shower gel - nothing. It's an FCUK box set, Hanni's mum got me it for Christmas.
"So I'm using that and I can't smell it, but I've never used it before so I don't know whether it's just s**t or I can't smell it."
He went on: "So I get out and go, 'I'll clean my teeth now.' Can't taste any toothpaste or mouthwash. And I go, 'Ooh, this is a big one'."

Jack concluded: "I just ring up work and go, 'I can't smell or taste.'
"They're like, 'Right, do a lateral flow.' It says I've got it. Two lines, see you later."
But his taste has thankfully come back.
He joked: "I can taste my shower gel, so everything is back.
"Other than the smell or taste I wouldn't have known that I'd got it. So that's been my week."
ITV had no comment to make.
Corrie veteran Jack and Hanni - who worked behind the scenes on the ITV1 soap - have been together for three years.
Hanni worked in the publicity team and once had a cameo in the ITV soap.
In January 2019 Jack, who plays David Platt in Coronation Street, took the next step and moved in with Hanni after 14 months of dating.
