What happened on Hollyoaks this week?

This week on Hollyoaks, three characters met an untimely end amid a shocking car smash.

A slew of dramatic plots all reached fever pitch as they intertwined with each other during a major pile-up that claimed the lives of two as well as a shocking murder taking place elsewhere in the village.

Kicking off the chaos was Ste Hay, played by Kieron Richardson, as he rescued his booze-fuelled daughter Leah Barnes after she ended up unconscious from heavy drinking at a rave with pals.

She was left vomiting from her drinking escapades as Ste attempted to bundle her home in the back of his car.

Feeling ill, she had been locked in a row with close pal Ella Richardson who insisted she had been ruining the vibe of the rave.

Elsewhere, Felix Westwood, played by Richard Blackwood, was locked in a blazing row with wife-to-be Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe)

Ahead of what would have been their impending nuptials, Felix was left aghast to discover CCTV footage of Mercedes kissing another hunky man.

Also in the pair's car was Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) - the man that Mercedes had been caught kissing.

With the row escalating, Felix became increasingly distracted as he took his eyes off the road.

With Ste also driving erratically in order to get Leah back home, he careered across the roundabout which left Felix's car flipping over as he attempted to dodge the vehicle.

Unaware of the trail of destruction leading behind him, Ste drove off leading Felix to deal with the second car which had slammed into him.

It left a heavily-pregnant Mercedes on the brink of death as she went into cardiac arrest following the incident.

Thankfully, Mercedes managed to make her way to hospital but not before confessing her love for Warren over Felix.

Amid the multiple car pile-up, not everyone made it out alive.

With Warren feeling somewhat relieved that Mercedes appeared as though she would be fine, his world crumbled in a matter of moments.

Around the corner from the collision, a body could be seen sprawled across the ground after being hit by Ste's car at the start of the crash.

To Warren's horror, it quickly became clear that it was his newly discovered teen daughter, Ella Richardson, who had been killed upon impact.

Ella's distinctive red boot could be seen on the ground by the body as warren broke down in tears as his worst fears were soon confirmed.

Elsewhere, another character failed to make it after the crash.

In a twist, Hollyoaks viewers had never met the character before but it is clear that their death will have a severe impact on the Chester village for weeks to come.

What we do know is that new show star Iz Hesketh, who plays the illusive Kitty Draper, was in the same car as her now deceased companion.

Away from the horror of what was going down on the roads, a shock couple showdown ended in a grisly murder too.

Dilly shockingly killed her husband Rafe after he threatened to tell Sienna Blake about the pair's shocking targeting of her in order to bring her down.

Unhappy with Sienna finding out all of their secret bombshells, Dilly took matters into her own hands when she grabbed a bell and hit him over the head with it.

She later tied him up to the radiator in the cellar and went to tell Sienna that Rafe would not be turning up for their planned wedding.

Unbeknown to her, the blow to his head had actually killed him and she soon returned to the cellar to find him lifeless.
