THE Chase viewers were left in hysterics over contestants names based on the Christmas nativity.
While the teams of four are always strangers to each other before they film their episode, show bosses sometimes like to find a way to connect them all.
In Tuesday's episode, viewers noticed a festive link between the four contestants named Mary, Joseph, Gabrielle and Dave.
Their names feature in the Christmas nativity with Mary and Joseph as Jesus' parents who travel to Bethlehem and are look for an inn.
Similar to Gabrielle, Angel Gabriel is known as the messenger of God who tells Mary and Joseph to follow the star to Bethlehem.
And Dave pays homage to the City of David in the ancient core of Jerusalem.
Fans took to Twitter to share their amusement and praise the casting team on the ITV gameshow.
One said: "Mary, Joseph, Gabrielle, and Dave (Bethlehem - David's city). I see what you did there."
Another wrote: "Mary, Joseph, Gabrielle and Dave well played."
A third penned: "Joseph should of worn his technicolour coat."

However, The Beast was not on form today and it was a VERY close contest.
Joseph and Dave managed to outrun The Beast with just one second remaining.
They had six attempts to push back with four executed.
The Beast remarked that it was his "worst performance ever."
He then blamed the question about trifle for his loss saying he "just couldn't remember the layers."
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
