Rylan Clark reveals secret bitter feud with top actor – and says he wanted to ‘punch him in the face’

RYLAN CLARK is one of the nicest blokes in showbusiness – but sadly not everyone in the industry is as friendly as him.

It turns out that even he can’t charm the spikiest of celebrities.

Rylan Clark reveals secret bitter feud with top actor - and says he wanted to 'punch him in the face'

In a new interview, The X Factor hopeful turned presenter has revealed a secret, long-running feud with another well-known name.

Rylan claims he overheard this celeb slagging him off during filming for ALAN CARR’s Chatty Man in 2013.

He said: “Shortly after The X Factor I went on Chatty Man. There was a guest on the show who is quite a famous actor in this country.

"I could hear him slagging me off, going: ‘Why is that idiot on the show? He is an absolute this and that’. I let it go, but I always banked it.”

A couple of years passed and Rylan bumped into the same actor at the National Television Awards.

After his fame had sky-rocketed — thanks to presenting jobs on Big Brother and This Morning — their next meeting could not have been more different.

Rylan said: “In 2016 and 2017, I was up for the NTA and they asked me to present an award. I go backstage and see this guy walking towards me.

He puts his hand out and says, ‘Rylan, it is so nice to meet you. I am such a big fan.

My daughters absolutely love you and they will kill me if I don’t get a photo with you. Please can we have a photo together?’

“I had a little reality check and thought, ‘I either punch him or do the decent thing for the daughters’. So I said, ‘Yes, absolutely’.”

Rylan added: “As I walked away, I turned around and said, ‘Mate, we have met before — on Chatty Man, in 2013. Do you remember slagging me off?’.”

I’ve put on my detective cap and reckon I know just who this actor could be. But I think I’ll save that for a rainy day.

Jay's one Del of a dancer

THE Repair Shop’s Jay Blades has an unlikely hero inspiring his turn on Strictly’s Christmas Special – Del Boy from Only Fools And Horses.

Jay, a former market trader himself, will dance to the sitcom’s theme song with pro Luba Mushtuk.

He said: “Only Fools And Horses is all about the underdog, and that’s how I felt when I was growing up in a poor part of Hackney.

"He was an underdog being brought up in a poor part of Peckham. But you watched the antics of Del Boy and Rodney and Uncle Albert, and there was hope.

“Del would say to Rodney, ‘This time next year, we’ll be millionaires’. It just related to me as a young guy growing up in London at the time.”

Ricky's rant

I THINK it’s fair to say Ricky Gervais is not a fan of Christmas telly. In his latest rant the comic – who made his name on Channel 4 and BBC2 – said he doesn’t even watch terrestrial TV.

He revealed: “I don’t know what to recommend, I don’t even know what’s on telly over Christmas. I don’t think there’s even anything on telly over Christmas.

“A couple of years ago I’d watch something and say, ‘That was great’ and now I watch it and go, ‘That’s not great because I now know what great is.”

Ricky’s award-winning black comedy After Life returns to Netflix for a third series on January 14.

'Dirty Duchess' of Argyll

HER Duchess of Argyll has long been dubbed the ‘Dirty Duchess’ - but Claire Foy is sick of it.

Margaret was so-called after racy photos were exposed in the court during her divorce.

But The Crown actress, who plays the socialite in the BBC’s A Very British Scandal, said she thinks the term is misogynistic.

Claire said: “Margaret’s sexuality seems to have become another personality or something outside of herself, which I find really bizarre and strange.

“Calling her the ‘Dirty Duchess’ is so misogynistic and I would like to think things have changed but I don’t think they have. It’s depressing.

“I think that the law doesn’t particularly treat women very well at all.”

She said: “It’s the perfect show to watch over Christmas and there is everything in there you’d expect. We are dressed up to the nines.”

Paddy McGuinness, host of the BBC1 show where celebs guess which guest can or can’t sing, let the side down in a grey blazer – but made up for it with a festive arrival, in a sleigh.
