The end of season two saw her show up on Gabriel's doorstep to confess her feeling for him, only to be greeted by her friend Camille.

Season three came in hot and ready with the new drama between all parties involved.

Emily is preparing for a long-distance relationship with Alfie. However, she's distracted.

Her work-life balance is heavy on the work side of things, and she's not giving very much to their relationship.

She throws Alfie a going-away party, but she doesn't show up until it's over and he's getting in a cab home.

Emily vows to make things work with Alfie after finding out he will return to Paris permanently for a job.

Their relationship seems hopeful until the last episode of the season when Camille and Gabriel are about to be married.

Camille tells Gabriel that she can't marry him because she knows he and Emily are still in love and belong together.

This makes Alfie realize Emily is settling for him because she can't be with Gabriel, which leaves him walking away with a broken heart.
