GREMLINS star Zach Galligan rocketed to fame on the creepy Christmas movie, which is getting a re-run this week.
He played Billy Peltzer, the youngster who never quite grasped the rules around caring for a murderous pet in the classic film.
Zach was a superstar as Billy, who thinks he's got a cute pet called a mogwai but winds up unleashing mayhem in his sleepy American town.
He also played him in the follow-up Gremlins 2: The New Batch, alongside Phoebe Cates who played his girlfriend Kate.
He is now 57, but was a lad just out of school in the movie, which was first released in 1984.
This summer, he marked the anniversary of the classic film's release, saying: "37 years ago today. Crazy! And still going strong.
"As I have said many times, I always thought that this film would be successful - but I am absolutely astonished by its longevity.
"I never dreamed it would stay this popular this long! Incredible! And, of course, it all comes down to one thing.
"You. The fans of this film are the sole reason that this franchise had stayed alive for decades.

"So, on behalf of the cast and crew, I THANK YOU all for your relentless, continued support of this film."
He added: "We had such an incredible time making this film, you have no idea. One day, someone will write a book about it (wink, wink).
"Until then, keep watching. And for everyone's sake - remember the rules!
Still acting today, Zach appeared in Madness In The Method in 2019 alongside Teri Hatcher, Vinnie Jones and Matt Willis (yes, that one).
But Gremlins shows little sign of getting any less popular, airing tomorrow night on Sky Movies Christmas.
It sees Zach's hapless Billy breaking all the rules he's been given for looking after his mogwai.
First he spills water on his pet - which he named Gizmo - having been warned not to get them wet, which causes him to spawn pals.
He then gets tricked by the devious creatures, who reset his digital clock, into feeding them after midnight, which turns them into gremlins.
Needless today say - and this probably isn't a spoiler - things do not go well after that, with the creatures terrorising the town.
Zach posts selfies on Instagram, where he has a devoted following thanks to the hit 80s movies.
