Ant & Dec’s new gameshow could break ITV as contestants win £40m
ANT and Dec fear their new game show, Limitless Win, will break ITV as more than 40 test run contestants won at least £1million each.
In total, the triallists would have pocketed nearly £50million.
The primetime show, starting on January 8, involves people answering questions to climb a never-ending money ladder.
But if they push their luck too far, they crash out and lose the lot.
ITV says it is the world’s first to offer an unlimited cash pot.
A source said: “As with any big show, producers like to get either the crew or public to have a crack so they can iron out any issues.
“But they couldn’t believe their eyes when they gave it a test run.
"Obviously, it makes for great viewing. But it left ITV’s accountants having kittens.”

The show is being co-produced by the duo’s TV company Mitre Studios and Ant, 46, said: “ITV boss Kevin Lygo was sweating when we pitched it.
“Then we had contestants playing and you’re like, ‘How high will they get? £5million in one go?’.
"The answer was, ‘Yes’. They were braver than I thought.”
Dec, 46, joked the team discussed cancelling ITV quiz shows Tipping Point and The Chase to foot the bill but said: “We are OK for the moment.”
