Vicky McClure reveals incredible nod to Line of Duty passed down to Martin Compston’s baby son
VICKY McClure has revealed the incredible nod to Line of Duty passed down to Martin Compston's baby son.
Vicky and Martin have starred in the hit BBC series together since the very beginning in 2012.
While Vicky plays DI Kate Fleming, Martin portrays DI Steve Arnott, and is known for wearing a waistcoat 99 per cent of the time.
During a press Q&A for her upcoming ITV drama Trigger Point, Vicky was asked about her friendship with Martin and fellow Line of Duty co-star Adrian Dunbar.
Asked if they buy each other Christmas presents and if she would be getting Martin another waistcoat, Vicky, 38, replied: "He's got plenty he doesn't need anymore.
"No I don't get them Christmas presents, but we do tend to shoot Line of Duty up until Christmas, so we get wrap presents for each other and they're always very thoughtful.
"And I'm pretty sure when Martin had his baby, we did buy his baby a waistcoat if that makes you feel better."
Martin, 37, welcomed a son with wife Tianna Chanel Flynn in March 2020, but very little is known about the child as the actor does his best to keep his personal life private.

However, the couple married in Martin's native Scotland in 2016 and they currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Meanwhile, Vicky also opened up about her role in Trigger Point, a six-part thriller about the work of the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad.
Airing next month, it will see Vicky head the cast as squad operative Lana Washington.
The similarities between Lana and LoD’s Detective Inspector Kate will add to inevitable comparisons between the two shows but Vicky is not worried.
She said: “That’s the kind of roles I love. I’ve sort of fallen into this genre. If I read a script, I often want to play the male’s role because that is the strong, committed role.
“I can’t worry about taking roles that might feel like they’re in a similar vein.
“Lana and Kate are both very strong women. Very brave and committed. But I don’t see them as the same people at all.”
Line of Duty is available on BBC iPlayer and Trigger Point will air in 2022.
