HOME Alone fans have risked shattering millions of childhoods after coming up with a pretty disturbing theory about Kevin McCallister.
Portrayed by former child star Macaulay Culkin, eight-year-old Kevin is seen successfully playing hardball with two robbers in the 1990 festive movie.
The school boy was accidentally left at home after his family flew off to spend Christmas in Paris, leaving him wide open to fall victim to burglars Harry and Marv.
But the criminals picked the wrong house to target.
After learning of their plan to break in, Kevin took great pleasure in setting dozens of pain-inducing traps to catch them in the act.
He smiled as he severely burned Marv's hand by heating up the doorknob and laughed as he almost knocked him out by dropping an iron on his head.
Kevin also appears to take huge delight in rigging up a trap to burn Harry's scalp with a blowtorch and is thrilled when he blasts him in the privates with a BB gun.
Film fans, however, think his arguably sadistic behaviour is all too similar to that of another movie character - and an extremely sinister one at that.

Also pale, fair and with blue eyes, Jigsaw from the Saw horror franchise also enjoys torturing his victims.
As a result, some Home Alone addicts have decided that Kevin grew up to become Jigsaw, who is named as John Kramer in the grim flicks.
'THE ULTIMATE RUSH'
The similarities don't stop there. Jigsaw communicates with his victims via a screen in the room they have been trapped in.
Kevin also communicates using an electronic device - in his case, a Talkboy. He uses the small machine to record gangsters in a film before playing it as a 'warning' to Harry and Marv.
In Saw II, Jigsaw plots to burn someone alive. Fans are convinced this sick idea stems from Kevin's fear of the furnace in his basement, which he imagines coming to life.
Some fans also wonder if Jigsaw's murderous ways were sparked by Kevin's obsession with next door neighbour Marley, who is rumoured to be a serial killer dubbed the 'South Bend Shovel Slayer'.
Writing on Reddit, one Home Alone fan suggested: "In the home Alone movies (specifically the first two) Culkin's character not only devises traps to hurt the guys trying to break in but also seems to get quite a rush whenever they actually got hurt.
"As he got older it got more and more exciting whenever he would find some new way to get someone hurt. Sometime in early adulthood he accidentally killed someone.
"But instead of stopping and feeling guilty about it, he got the ultimate rush. He started killing more and as a way of eliminating any guilt he might possibly get, convinced himself it was to teach people to appreciate life."
Another wrote: "For me it's totally plausible. Kevin = Jigsaw both make intricate traps both are homicidal both have anger issues the bear trap from saw looks like the furnace in Kevin's basement. Jigsaw has a room that looks like Kevin's basement Jigsaw has a furnace trap playing off of Kevin's fear the look similar."
However, exposing a huge hole in the theory, one logical person asked: "Home Alone was set in the early 1990s and Saw was set in the 2000s. How did he age 50 years in a short period of time?"

James Wan, co-creator of Saw, has spoken out about the fan theory and confirmed that he DID NOT set out for Jigsaw to be an older Kevin McCallister.

But he did tell : "I should've known all along that Macaulay Culkin would grow up to be John Kramer. I think it's awesome.
"I'm very flattered that people take the time to have fun with all these fan theories."
