FURIOUS fans of The Chase have slammed Shaun Wallace for “throwing” the final round - with some demanding that he should be axed from the show.
On Monday evening’s show, contestants Richard, Abbi, Dave and Alison faced Shaun to try their hands at winning some cash.
After battling it out in their cash-builder rounds, contestants Dave and Alison managed to bring a staggering £47,000 to the final.
While the stage looked set for the Chaser to win, a number of incorrect answers led them to victory - and fans of the show aren’t happy about it.
Building their steps, they managed to get 19 in front of 'The Dark Destroyer' before he came out and began his attempt to stop them.
However, despite his best effort, he became stumped on five of the questions, which allowed Dave and Alison to push him back and buy themselves some more time.
The pair celebrated their win as the timer ended, with Shaun looking disappointed at his performance.
Twitter soon became a switchboard for complaints about the Chaser, as many expressed their opinions on his "mediocre" performance.
Alongside an angry-faced emoji, one viewer fumed: "Shaun is costing ITV more money again - it's just as well he's only on once a week."
Meanwhile, another fan of the show brutally questioned: “Is there a reason why Shaun is still a Chaser?"
Someone else accused the 61-year-old for losing the game on purpose and said: "Well thrown, Shaun," alongside a clapping hands emoji.
Realising his slip-up in the final, Shaun admitted he was disappointed as he rushed a question regarding the location of Senegal.
Shaun got its neighbouring ocean wrong which, if he had answered correctly, would've given him the golden opportunity to catch the team.

As they celebrated their win, host Bradley Walsh asked what they would spend the money on with Dave replying: “Paying for that bathroom, get me a nice guitar and spend some on the family.”
Alison said: “That will be a nice holiday.”
