How will Walk The Line work?

Music icon Gary Barlow, award winning performer Alesha Dixon, comedy legend Dawn French, and chart superstar Craig David have been officially announced as the stellar new judging panel for new ITV musical game show, Walk The Line.

Hosted by Maya Jama, the show sees musical acts - be they soloists, duos or bands - take to the stage to perform for the nation and the judges.

But to win the prize money, talent alone isn’t enough.

The contestants will need nerves of steel as they determine whether to cash out or physically Walk The Line and risk it all to stay in the competition.

The act that finishes at the top of the leaderboard then progresses to the next night’s show, where they will face a new line-up of performers.

The longer they can stay in the competition, the bigger the prize pot.

While it isn’t yet known what exactly “walking the line” entails, ITV have hinted at a tightrope being involved.

Speaking about the show, host Maya told ITV: “This has been a childhood dream of mine.

"I remember watching shows created by Simon when I was younger, and to be given the opportunity to host one myself… it has definitely been a pinch me moment.

"Walk The Line has been unlike anything I’ve worked on before and I hope everyone has as much fun watching it as we are making it.”

What is the Walk The Prize?

ITV have revealed the prize is a whopping £500K.

As mentioned earlier, the longer the contestants stay in the competition, the more money they can win.

But overall, the ultimate jackpot is half a million pounds.
