Bachelorette Katie Thurston shares first pic with new boyfriend John Hersey weeks after split with fiancé Blake Moynes
BACHELORETTE Katie Thurston shared her first photo with new love John Hersey after she broke off her engagement with Blake Moynes.
Katie and Blake decided to part ways back in October after a brief engagement admitting they're "not compatible."
The reality star has since rekindled a romance with her fellow contestant, whom she sent home during week two leading to her ultimately choosing Blake in the finale.
The 30-year-old shared a photo of the pair posing on the ice while on a romantic ice skating date in San Diego, California.
John stood behind his new love wrapping his arms around her waist as Katie interlaced her fingers with his.
They lovebirds smiled for the snapshot while balancing in their skates, both wearing winter attire.
The former Bachelorette posted the photo alongside the caption: "Life is short. Do what makes you happy."
The post ignited feedback from happy fans sending their positive vibes to the newfound couple.

While Bachelorette co-host Kaitlyn Bristowe echoed the statement writing: "Happy you’re happy."
A snapshot of the pair locking lips was also shared on TV personality Stephen Lovegrove's Instagram Stories as Katie leaned her head back to plant a kiss on her new beau.
The post was captioned: "brb manifesting a Katie + John love story for myself and everyone I know" while tagging the reality stars.
SWEET REUNION
News of the couple's reunion first broke last month when reported that Katie seemed to dedicate Taylor Swift’s Begin Again to him after shading her exes during her “12 Days of Messy” challenge.
The pair also were set to attend their mutual friend Stephen’s First Noelle Ball on December 2, according to the outlet.
Aside from sharing videos of the two recently, Katie also posted a clip of John's limo entrance from the series, further adding fuel that the two have kicked off a new romance.
SHORT-LIVED ROMANCE
Katie was previously engaged to Blake who popped the question during the Bachelorette three-hour season finale which aired in August.
That did not last long though as the couple announced they had called it quits in October.
Katie and Blake, 30, shared identical posts to reveal the news, which read: "It is with mutual love and respect that we have decided to go our separate ways.
"We are so grateful for the moments we shared together and the entire journey that has unfolded this year, but we ultimately have concluded that we are not compatible as life partners, and it is the most caring choice for both of us to move forward independently."
They added: "We ask for kindness and privacy as we both navigate this transition. Both of us will forever want the best for one another and ask you to please support us in our decision."
'EMBARRASSED'
As their engagement didn't exactly have legs, Katie was said to be "embarrassed" by the breakup.
A source close to the TV personality exclusively told The Sun: "This is not the outcome she wanted and she really, really wanted to find her person.
“But they both appear to love their newfound fame so I wouldn't be surprised if either, or both, end up on Bachelor In Paradise next year."
Noting that Katie's ex has been living in Canada, the insider added: “Blake could even end up on the Canadian Bachelor.
“That's not off the table. I'm certain they would both say 'yes' to the opportunity if it presents itself but right now they both need time to process this breakup."
MOM'S BOY
While Katie has since moved on from the breakup, Blake's mother had some unresolved feelings towards her ex future daughter-in-law.
His mother, Emily, liked a comment by a fan about Katie and John's romance which read: "Nah this is terrible on Katie's part.
"I feel truly sorry for Blake. In any relationship, you put a sense of 'trust' in one another, especially long-distance relationships.
"There's no denying the dishonesty and deception for months upon months."
The fan had left the comment on a video that Instagram fan account posted showing Katie and pilot John on a helicopter ride together and at a bar.
