A PLACE In The Sun host Lee Juggurnauth was stunned as a contestant branded a property he'd chosen as "claustrophobic."

Channel 4 show star Harriet stuck the knife in further as she told how the sun-soaked pad in Spain "wasn't doing it for me" - before refusing to step foot any further.

Lee was tasked with finding the perfect apartment in the Mediterranean with a budget of £110,000.

After being told his first selection was "too small" and "needed updating" Lee pushed the boat out with the second property which boasted three bedrooms and a balcony.

Yet the A Place In The Sun presenter, who is a property developer by trade, was taken aback with the property hunter's response as she said: "No, definitely no. This feels claustrophobic.

“I know what you're saying that it's a bigger living space but I can see the kitchen from here and there would be no kitchen left if I knocked that wall out.

”It's still too small, and I don't like the arches and the little rooms.“

When the host, 34, asked if he could show her any more, she declined and insisted it "wasn't doing it" for her.

With a total of five properties to show, experts on the series usually manage to get a thumbs-up from clients on at least one.

However this was not the case as not one fit the bill.

The episode wrapped with Harriet thanking Lee for his efforts but confirming she will not put any offer.

CUT SHORT

Meanwhile Lee, who joined the show this year, has not had the best luck on recent episodes, and was left similarly mortified when a couple cut their tour short.

A recent episode of the Channel 4 show saw Lee meet Mark and Karen in Torrevieja, on Spain’s Costa Blanca.

The couple had a budget of £150,000 and hoped to find their dream home after deciding to relocate permanently to the area for early retirement.

The first property was a three-bed semi-detached villa with a balcony off one of the bedrooms, roof top solarium and a tiled front terrace, plus use of a large communal pool.

However, Karen was unimpressed as soon as she stepped inside, saying: "It's a bit small."

Lee then asked: "Do you want to have a look at the rest of the property or not really?"

Karen replied: "No, not really," before Mark admitted: "It's not for us."

Lee said he would take the notes on board, before telling the camera: "Oh dear, that wasn't the start I was hoping for."

The rest of the search didn't go much better, with the couple failing to find what they were looking for and deciding not to put an offer in on any of them.
