I’m A Celeb’s Naughty Boy is getting ‘special meals’ delivered to him in the castle in scenes not shown on camera

I’M A Celebrity star Naughty Boy is being delivered “special meals” off-camera.

The talented music producer – who is Muslim – will receive halal meals in the castle.

He’ll be given specially-prepared food like chicken and lamb dishes and he will also not be required to eat pork products when the camp wins dinner after a Bushtucker Trial.

But he will be taking part in eating trials — which usually involve eating creepy-crawlies — as Muslim rules do not ban it.

“The meals will be given to Naughty Boy by production crew but it won’t be seen on camera,” says a source.

ITV had no comment when approached by The Sun.

Previous campmates Sir Mo Farah and Amir Khan have also been given special halal meals off camera when they took part in the show.

Naughty Boy grew up on a council estate in Watford and went on to produce music for the likes of Beyonce, Sam Smith and Rihanna.

The award-winning music producer, who tried to smuggle spices into the camp, opened up about his religion in an episode of ITV News’ series Young, British and Muslim and explained his rise to fame.

The 36-year-old, whose real name is Shahid Khan, told us how he created the alias Naughty Boy in order “to not be seen”.

“No one could judge [Naughty Boy] based on his colour, or his ethnicity or even religion because when you hear music it’s colourless, it’s a colour that everyone in the world understands,” he explained.

He added: “I’m so much more comfortable now to talk about being proud of being Pakistani, being proud of being Muslim because I’ve got a CV – those songs were given without me trying to sell my skin colour.”

Naughty Boy almost quit after just one day in the castle – but was convinced to stay when he was sent a ‘sign’.

Last night Naughty Boy admitted: “I can honestly say, first night in The Clink, I woke up traumatised.

“But I had no one to blame but myself. I was even questioning,
should I be here?

“A robin flew in. I felt something. That robin’s here to see me. We chilled for a bit.

“Yeah, I was thinking that robin came with a message and all that message is is everything’s going to be OK.”

Naughty Boy turned down doing I’m A Celebrity last year to help care for his mum.

The chart-topper, 36, lives with dementia sufferer Zahida and her carer but he could not bear to leave them during the 2020 lockdowns.

Now the hitmaker says he wants to become King of the Castle this year for his mother.

“I was gutted I wasn’t able to do the show last year,” he said.

“We were in and out of lockdown and, with so much anxiety, it just didn’t feel like the right time.

“I had to understand dementia in a different way.”

Naughty Boy, one of the contestants at Gwrych Castle in Conwy, has packed himself a pillow with his mum’s face as his luxury item.
