TILLY Ramsay is likely to be the real winner of Strictly Come Dancing, despite ending up in last night’s dance-off.
The university student, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon, was saved by the judges who sent Olympian Adam Peaty, 26, home.
Tilly has earned an army of fans after standing up to a radio DJ who mocked her weight.
She said she “won’t tolerate people that think it’s OK to publicly comment and scrutinise anyone’s weight and appearance” after 67-year-old LBC presenter Steve Allen called her “a chubby little thing”.
And despite having to fight to stay in the BBC dance contest, insiders believe Tilly, 20 today could make a fortune.
A source said: “Tilly’s popularity has soared since she started on Strictly and, if she is clever, she could bank a million over the next couple of years.
“She has had loads of offers for endorsements and brand partnerships because companies can see how much appeal she has — especially because of the graceful way she has dealt with being shamed over her body.
“Tilly’s TikTok account has also grown since she joined Strictly, along with her profiles on Instagram and Twitter, and she has now got 9.6million followers on TikTok alone.
“She’s an incredibly hard worker and is juggling university and the show so she will be weighing up her options carefully.
“But ultimately, even if she doesn’t get her hands on the Glitterball trophy she will still be leaving Strictly as a winner.”
Tilly and her professional partner Nikita Kuzmin’s tango on Saturday night failed to impress the judges and she was in the bottom two with swimmer Adam, 26, and partner Katya Jones.
But after performing again, judges Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse chose to send home Adam and Katya.
Head judge Shirley Ballas said she would have chosen to save Adam and Katya, who performed a jive.
Ultimately, even if she doesn’t get her hands on the Glitterball trophy Tilly will still be leaving Strictly as a winner.
Adam said: “I have absolutely loved every single challenge.
“I’ve never had a challenge like this. As an Olympian for 16 years, I’ve pushed my body to places that I never thought it could be pushed.
“This is just a whole new ball game and I’ve got so much respect for everyone that dances across the world and to all of these contestants and pros that put themselves on the line every single week. It’s just been a great experience.”
Adam’s time on the show had been tainted by trolls targeting his girlfriend Eiri Munroe, 23 — mum to their one-year-old — following his near-kiss with Katya at the end of a racy dance last month.
