Mama June’s daughter Honey Boo Boo, 16, says she’s ‘still trying to fix’ relationship with mom after crack cocaine bust
MAMA June’s daughter Honey Boo Boo admitted she’s “still trying to fix” her relationship with her mother.
The 16-year-old’s admission comes after June, 42, was arrested on crack cocaine charges.
Honey Boo Boo- whose real name is Alana Thompson- said: "I feel like right now, we're definitely working on us and trying to fix the relationship.
"I don't feel like it's 110 percent fixed, but it's definitely getting there, that's for sure."
In order to regain the trust of her family, June moved closer to her kids as they film the latest season of Mama June: Road to Redemption.
During the interview, June said they now see each other “every day.”
The TV personality added: “We see a lot of each other during production, because we film five days a week, and so, I live probably 15 minutes from there now.”
BONDING EXPERIENCE
The estranged pair grew even closer when they prepared to compete on The Masked Singer together.
While reflecting on their short stint on the show, June said: "It was very emotional.
“It was kinda great that it was coming from our 10-year anniversary of being on reality TV, that happened Oct. 12 of this year, just last month and now we're on The Masked Singer, which is huge for both of us because Alana did Dancing With the Stars, and for us, it's one of the biggest things that we've done in our career.
“So, I'm hoping that with everybody seeing that, we can do more projects similar to this one."
BEACH BALL DEBUT
Unfortunately for the contestants, their time on The Masked Singer only last one episode.
The pair competed as the Beach Ball on Wednesday's episode, which featured them singing Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA.
Following their elimination, fans rushed to Twitter to slam their singing skills.
One fan wrote: "That had to be the worst performance I ever heard on this show."
Another added: "Mama June was a tiny bit better than Honey Boo Boo but they were both tone deaf. So I see why they didn't last past tonight."
A third chimed in: "What a waste of an episode."
LIVING WITH PUMPKIN
The former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star currently lives with her older sister Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird, who has been given legal guardianship of the teen after June was arrested on possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in 2019.
At the time, she faced jail time for the criminal charges.
