Love Island’s Mary Bedford takes savage swipe at show bosses with sexy Halloween costume

LOVE Island's Mary Bedford recreated her Heart Rate challenge outfit for Halloween and said in a savage swipe at the show "this is how it should have been done".

Back in July Mary, 22, was given a cheap-looking Little Mermaid outfit in the legendary game, which sees the Islanders attempting to turn each other on.

While the rest of the girls slipped into raunchy get-ups, Mary was left with a baffling fancy outfit that left her looking just like Ariel in The Little Mermaid.

The frizzy red wig and skirt of green scales raised eyebrows online.

And the timing couldn't have been worse, after Harry Styles dressed up as The Little Mermaid in a photoshoot just weeks before.

Viewers immediately thought Mary looked just like Harry, and teased her in memes posted on Twitter.

Others wondered why she'd gotten such a bad outfit from Love Island's wardrobe department.

One fan wrote on Twitter at the time: "Wonder which producer Mary p****d off to have the be the little mermaid when everyone else looks fire #loveIsland"

Another said: "i’d be fuming with the producers if I were mary #loveisland"

One more cried with laughter, writing: "all these sexy outfits then mary’s? nah they did her so wrong 😭😭 #LoveIsland"

But Mary has had the last laugh - transforming into a stunning mermaid for Halloween.

She captioned her latest photo: "How it should of been done🙄"

Her Love Island co-star Brett Staniland wrote beneath the post: "A bit more like itttttt🔥🔥🔥"

Fellow co-star and Love Island finalist Chloe Burrows typed: "Yesss mares!!!!!"

And another fan said: "She understood the assignment"
