Gladiators’ Hunter teases epic revival for show’s 30th anniversary – promising ‘there’s something in the pipeline’
THERE could be something major in the works for Gladiators' upcoming 30th anniversary, according to a former star.
Gladiators was a must-watch in the '90s not least for the Lycra uniforms the athletes wore to show off their sporting prowess.
Hunter - real name Hunter Crossley - was the youngest Gladiator to be recruited for the show, joining at the tender age of 19.
The show's 30th anniversary is coming up next year and now Hunter has teased a major celebration for the milestone.
"Nitro, who was kind of the Wolf of the American Gladiators, has contacted quite a few of us and there is something in the pipeline to do," he told Carly in Convo.
"He is currently making a TV show now in the US about the American Gladiators 30 years on, and he is doing a show about what they were doing beforehand, about them during the show and what they have done since then.
"He's been in chats with us and he's trying to get something going definitely."
Hunter admitted his time on the show "does actually feel like another life ago".

He also explained the show's record breaking viewership probably had a lot to do with the fact that the show appealed to all people.
"We got such a massive audience base, I think we peaked at about 16 to 18million... because it was such a popular show and it had something for everybody," Hunter said.
"It was for kids, it was for families, it had that family entertainment."
He added: "It is crazy that even now 30 years later we are still getting booked for bits and pieces as Gladiators."
Hunter hit the headlines after dating the show’s host Ulrika Jonsson,, the relationship was strongly denied until she finally came clean in her 2003 autobiography.
After dabbling with an acting career for a few years, the star settled into the sports industry like many of his former co-stars.
As well as being a personal trainer, James also runs his own successful consultancy business, Chelsea Fitness.
