Sir Trevor McDonald to star as GamesMaster when programme returns later this year

WHEN E4 announced the return of Noughties tech show GamesMaster, fans were concerned about who would take on the late Sir Patrick Moore's hosting role.

But they can now sleep easy, knowing another legendary Sir will be watching over competitors as they battle to claim the Golden Joystick trophy.

News At Ten icon Sir Trevor McDonald will star as the GamesMaster when the programme returns later this year.

Sir Trevor said: “I am delighted to be taking on this iconic role for a new generation of viewers.”

GamesMaster, which originally ran from 1992 to 1998, will see celebrities, gaming champions and superfans take part in challenges, races and epic fights.

It will premiere on E4’s YouTube, followed by a traditional series on E4.
