Adam Peaty admitted he could ‘see how the Strictly curse happens’ weeks before ‘near-kiss’ with Katya Jones

earlier this month, Adam showed off some of his moves that he'd been learning.

He said: "My hips are here, hers are here, and then we do this…”

Motioning a sensual pelvis gyration, he added: "You get close. I can see how it happens."

It comes after Adam was accused by viewers of "getting carried away" after his 'near-kiss' with Katya.

An awkward blunder on live telly showed dad-of-one Adam "lean in" for a peck after their sexy dance, before Katya pulled away.

One viewer said: "Definitely looked like Adam and Katya were about to kiss at the end of that performance."

Another added: "Adam full had to snap himself out of a kiss at the end there. We all saw."

"Katya needs to remember is that Adam is in a relationship!!!." reminded one fan.

Someone else said: "Katya and Adam have definitely done more than just dance together - no way have they not lol."

However, Adam blasted viewers for ‘getting carried away’ with near-kiss scandal.

Speaking on today's Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, he said: "It's about being believable as well. You don't want to do a dance like that and not do it justice because you haven't switched on right at the end.

"So it's being believable and that's what some people get carried away with.

"But hey ho, that's life."

Adam said he was nearly overwhelmed with adrenaline during the routine and knew they were performing well from the reaction in the studio.

He said: "It's easy to get lost in the moment with the adrenaline, because I get so much adrenaline when performing, especially when she was on my shoulders and my arms were open.

"I looked at the other celebs that side of the room and I was like, 'Yes, I am good here.'

"Then my head was like, 'Calm down, calm down, because I'm not finished yet.'

"There was so much emotion at the end, and when we finished Katya made a noise."

Last week Olympic swimmer Adam revealed he missed his son's first birthday due to filming of the BBC show.

His absence didn't go down well with his Welsh girlfriend, who is mum to their one-year-old boy George.

The 26-year-old admitted: "It didn't go down too well but that's the difficult thing when you do this, everyone has to understand."

Adam and artist Eiri met on Tinder at the beginning of 2020 and within months were expecting their son.

Meanwhile Russian beauty Katya was famously caught up in a Strictly storm when she was pictured kissing her celebrity partner Seann Walsh in 2018 behind her husband's back.

Ten months later she announced she'd split from Neil Jones.
