Bake Off’s Matt Lucas confirmed for Celebrity Gogglebox special with his mum

MATT Lucas has confirmed his seat on the sofa for the Celebrity Gogglebox special and he'll be joined by his mum Diana.

The pair are the latest to join the star-studded line-up, which includes the previously announced Graham Norton and Michelle Visage.

And it's all for a good cause as viewers will get to see Matt and his mum on Friday, taking part in the special edition for Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up To Cancer event.

The Great British Bake Off host told : "Mum and I love Gogglebox so we’re extremely chuffed to be on the sofa together in support of the brilliant Stand Up To Cancer."

Announcing the news on the Channel 4 show's Twitter account, fans were told: "Well, would you Lucas this!!😍

"@realmattlucas and his mum Diana are joining the #Gogglebox sofa THIS FRIDAY 15th October for @SU2CUK Celebrity Special!

"9pm on @Channel4 📺⭐👀 #StandUpToCancer".

On joining the cast, Graham said: “Cancer keeps robbing us of the most wonderful people so it’s an honour for Michelle and me to be taking our places on the hallowed Gogglebox sofa for this year’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

“I dread to think what we’ll end up watching but it’s safe to say, some shade will be thrown.”

Michelle added: “I love Gogglebox and I adore Graham Norton, so this is my idea of sheer heaven.

“I lost both my adoptive and biological mothers to this awful disease so it’s incredibly important to me to support the amazing work Stand Up To Cancer do.

“Every penny raised goes towards finding cures for cancer so I hope we can help raise bucket loads of money.”

The special edition of the show will also see Aisling Bea take a seat on her settee, along with Rob Delaney and Michael Sheen – who is joined by his wife Anna Lundberg.

Gogglebox regulars Jenny and Lee, Blackpool’s best Pete and Sophie, South London partners Marcus and Mica and the Siddiqui family are also on the episode, which airs at 9pm.
