HOLLY Willoughby was left red-faced after she stained her dress with shepherd's pie live on This Morning today.

The 40-year-old star sheepishly admitted that she'd been "shovelling in" the dish because she enjoyed it so much, showing the unfortunate brown mark on her dress to the camera.

The TV favourite looked sensational in the green floral midi dress with puff sleeves, but a dollop of lamb in its sauce fell on her lap as she ate.

This Morning chef was talking her and co-host Phillip Schofield through how to make the meal when the incident happened.

Interrupting the chef as he cooked, Holly gasped and exclaimed "Oh no!" before Phil started giggling.

Phil teased his pal: "Oh no, we can't take you anywhere - you can eat that later!"

Holly blushed: "It's when I'm enjoying myself, I like to shovel it in - sorry, what a mess."

Holly had previously admitted that she is a huge shepherd's pie fan - and even planned to make Donal's recipe this weekend when her parents visit.

Donal warned her not to be so careless when she preps the food, with Holly promising: "I won't, I know, I'll behave myself."

Holly desperately dabbed at her dress to try and lift the stain, but was unable to get changed.

Instead, she hosted the remaining 30 minutes of This Morning with the unfortunate mark, but thankfully it was barely noticeable from a distance.
