Strictly’s Katie McGlynn promises to ‘ramp up’ the sexiness with partner Gorka Marquez on the dance floor
ACTRESS Katie McGlynn has promised to bring the sexy as she prepares to make her Strictly Come Dancing debut.
The former Corrie star is paired with pro dancer Gorka Marquez for the latest installment of the BBC ballroom stalwart and they are set to make their dancing debut this weekend.
Katie, 28, told The Sun's TV magazine she felt she could 'be herself' with Gorka within hours of meeting him, which will come in handy when they have to pull off some sexy dance moves.
"That’s the best way to be with that kind of stuff. I know it’s not exactly the same, but because I’m an actress, I have to kiss people a lot… well not a lot," she started, as Gorka declared, "you don’t kiss in dancing."
Katie quickly replied, laughing: "No I know. But I’m used to being in awkward situations and I’m not awkward, I’m really chilled with stuff like that.
"So we’ll just ramp it up and then when we get off probably laugh."
Gorka added the steamy dances should be a breeze for the Hollyoaks star because it's all acting.
"When people go, ‘How can you dance so close with someone?’ and I’m thinking, well it’s like actors when they have to do a love scene or a kissing scene or even an X-rated scene," he explained.
"It’s all pretending. Sometimes it doesn’t look like that, it's the way they have the camera."
The Sun exclusively revealed in June that - 18 months after leaving the cobbles of Weatherfield.
Strictly Come Dancing returned to screens last weekend for its 19th series with some of the biggest names in television.
Fans patiently waited to find out which stars are taking the cha-cha-chance to learn how to dance alongside Katie and Gorka.
This series is set to be a cracker as actor Robert Webb, presenter AJ Odudu, McFly's Tom Fletcher, actress Nina Wadia, The Crown's Greg Wise, Tilly Ramsay, comedian Judi Love and Olympian Adam Peaty vie for the glitterball.
