Strictly star Dan Walker collapses on the floor after running into a glass door days before the show starts

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Dan Walker has suffered an injury after a horrific accident that left him sprawled out on the floor.

The 44-year-old BBC Breakfast presenter opened up about the moment he smashed into a door running to get his wallet.

Showing the massive lump on his head Dan told followers: “I’ve done something completely stupid.

“I left my wallet in the taxi as I checked into a hotel. I ran back out to chase the driver and ran straight into a giant glass door which I thought was open.

“Full deck on the floor, gasps in the restaurant… lump on the head. Thankfully… I still remember the routine.

“I got the wallet back as the driver had stopped for a fag around the corner.”

The shocking accident comes just days before the return of Strictly Come Dancing, which will air on Saturday night.

Dan’s former BBC co-star Steph McGovern suggested Lisa Armstrong, Ant McPartlin’s Strictly make-up guru ex, could cover up the injury.

She wrote: “Nightmare!! Hope you’re ok. I’m sure @lisaarmstrongmakeup could use her fab makeup skills to turn it into a Strictly feature lump?!”

Dan’s Match Of The Day pundit co-star Alan Shearer replied with a shocked emoji while Strictly pro Amy Dowden commented: “Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhh.”

Dan let slip the Strictly start date on BBC Breakfast earlier this month while talking to co-star Louise Minchin.

Whipping out his phone and firing up his personal calendar, Dan said: “I was just going to put your date in the diary.”

Then, looking through his Strictly appointments, he added: “I meet and greet the partner in a couple of days time.

“And actually the first show is on the 18th and then the live shows start on the 25th.”

Louise replied: “Perfect, I leave on the 15th, you leave on the 18th.”
