Save Our Summer stunner Maya Jama confirmed as host of new Simon Cowell show Walk The Line
SHE’s used to Saving Our Summers and now Maya Jama is set to perk up Simon Cowell's Autumn too.
I can reveal the former Radio 1 DJ will front Simon’s brand new show Walk The Line later this year after her hosting skills impressed him.
The music mogul wanted a big name to front his major new project, and who better than telly’s most in-demand presenter.
A show insider said: “Maya is undoubtedly one of the most exciting new faces on British television right now. Everybody is chuffed to have her on board to present Walk The Line.
“Maya and Simon already have a great rapport so it’s a no-brainer to have her joining the show.
“It’s a new format so it’s a perfect hire, as Maya brings something fresh and exciting. It really seems like the perfect fit.
“Simon has made it clear to everyone that this show is something completely different, so it makes total sense to bring in a new talent line-up to join him on the series.”
Since making her primetime hosting debut last year fronting Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer and the 2021 follow up Crouchy’s Year Late Euros Live on BBC1, Maya has established herself in the big league of TV presenters.

Her decision to quit Radio 1 in May last year to concentrate on TV projects has certainly paid off, especially as she also took over from Stacey Dooley as host of BBC3 make-up series Glow Up.
Simon will be taking on his familiar role as judge in Walk The Line, which will see musical acts take the stage in a bid to win a £500,000 top prize.
Big money jackpot
The twist in the series sees the top two performers from each episode decide whether to go home and settle for a cash prize or walk the line and play on in a bid to win the big money jackpot.
Should they choose to stay in the competition, they’ll progress to the next show, taking on a new set of performers.
The cash-out prize grows every night, meaning the risk of staying in the competition increases.
Simon certainly hasn’t taken a risk snapping up Maya.
Daisy: I love ghost hunts
DAISY May Cooper is at the centre of a classic TV show comeback in the form of music quiz Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
But the This Country funnywoman, a new team captain on the rebooted series coming soon on Sky Max, has her eye on starring in another retro hit – Most Haunted.
Asked if Daisy wants to become the new Yvette Fielding, who has hosted the show since its inception in 2002, she said: “That’s a great idea. I really want to train to be an exorcist and just go out on the road rescuing people and clearing them of all of their demons. Sky has to make it happen!”
She added: “My cleaner is a medium as well, so she will be saying stuff to me like, ‘Oh, just to let you know, I’ve picked up on a spirit and it likes to walk through the wardrobe and out into the bathroom, also we’ve run out of loo roll’.”
Daisy is so interested in the paranormal she has splashed out on ghost-hunting paraphernalia.

While she has yet to see a spirit, she felt a presence while lying in a private hospital room suffering from kidney stones earlier this year.
Daisy said that she has a device that can record ‘dead air’, explaining: “You ask questions like ‘Is anybody here?, and when you listen to it back, you’re supposed to be able to hear the ghosts. I did it and I heard a ghost say, ‘Don’t be afraid’.”
