Skins star Jack O'Connell plays the main character of The North Water, surgeon Patrick Sumner.
The buttoned-up surgeon joins the crew after leaving the British Army.
However, it rapidly emerges that he's not quite as squeaky clean as he appears and is, in fact, hiding a dark past.
Colin Farrell
Irish actor Colin Farrell is stepping into the role of brutish seaman Henry Drax - and the handsome a-lister is near enough unrecognisable in the role.
