CHARITY AXED

Good Morning Britain thrown into chaos as they’re forced to SCRAP charity feature with Stephen Mulhern after blunder

GOOD Morning Britain was thrown into chaos today, with the breakfast show forced to SCRAP a charity feature with Stephen Mulhern due to a technical blunder.

Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid were left red-faced as the live link to Stephen in Hampshire failed to work.

Speaking towards the end of the programme, Ben referenced Stephen's prankster persona as he told viewers: "We are trying to get Stephen Mulhern up, he's been there all morning but has been causing problems and now we've got a problem with the link.

"Was he messing around behind the satellite truck and he's pulled the wrong plug out?"

They then cut to a funny clip from Donny Osmond's interview earlier in the show, and the weather report in a bid to buy some time.

However, they were still unable to sort the technical issue - although a brief live clip of Stephen in Hampshire surrounded by the children who were set to appear alongside him did show on screen.

Ben explained: "It was a whole cast of guests up there to experience the fabulous Make-A-Wish Foundation experience.

Ben added that they may get Stephen and the children to pre-record the film, and it will be on ITV's website later today.
