Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd reveals he’s starring in debut film with girlfriend Hanni Treweek

JACK P Shepherd is set to star in his first film – and his girlfriend Hanni Treweek is joining him.

The couple will both appear in the short thriller, with Jack taking on a character called ‘Pete’ and Hanni the role of ‘Lucy’.

Jack, 33, announced the news on social media and described it as “very exciting”.

Alongside the official movie shot, the Coronation Street star wrote on Instagram: “Our short film @drip_shortfilm is finished! And will play through the festivals, very exciting.

“It was a pleasure to work on and can’t wait for you to see it. Directed by @thejayrobey starring @ohsiddall @hannitreweek and myself.”

Jack’s fans have been quick to reply, with one commenting: “It will be interesting to see you in a new role! Looking forward to it.”

Another wrote: “Looks canny Jack, poster would get me in to see it, hopefully we’ll all get to see it, hope it goes well, wish you the best of luck with it.”

Producers of Drip, which was shot in Jack’s stomping ground of Manchester, have remained tight-lipped about the plot.

However, a description on movie website IMDB teases: “People will go to great lengths to protect their own sanity.”

An Instagram page set up to promote the short film also shows one of the characters – believed to be Jack’s – with a blood-soaked hammer striking a bloodied head.

‘EXCITING CASTING’

In October, Jack’s casting was announced on the flick’s accompanying Facebook page.

It read: “It’s fair to say that we are super excited to announce the casting of Jack P Shepherd.

“A mainstay in living rooms across the country, Jack stars as David Platt in the nation’s favourite soap, Coronation Street.

“As we draw ever closer to our shoot date, your support, shares and likes will really help us spread the word about the project.”

Jack, a Corrie veteran for 20 years, and Hanni – who worked behind the scenes on the ITV1 soap – have been together for three years.

Hanni worked in the publicity team and once had a cameo in the ITV soap.

In January 2019 Jack, who plays David Platt in Coronation Street, took the next step and moved in with Hanni after 14 months of dating.
