REAL Housewives of Atlanta late star Gregg Leakes looked unrecognizable in "sad" last days before cancer death, his friend Peter Thomas says.
Cynthia Bailey's ex-husband and a former show regular noted his friend had suffered before his passing.

Peter shared in an Instagram video: "Today's really really a sad day for me, a sad day- yeah."
He shared he and his friend, Apollo Nida, who is also the ex-husband of former star, Phaedra Parks, went to see before he passed and said: "It was just sad, and my friend didn't look like my friend.
"My friend [had] been suffering and fighting this cancer thing, and it's just a sad day...
"He's a great guy and a great man. He's a great dad. He's a great husband."
RHOA star also posted a photo of her and husband Todd Tucker with and at a party.
She wrote: "My prayers go out to @neneleakes & her family.

"Out of nowhere, Gregg asked to pray for Mike and me. For our love & our relationship. He was the first person to actually pray for us as a couple.
"It was so heartfelt and so beautiful. We were all so touched and blown away by his words. I think Mike & I both teared up. There was truly a ministry inside of him."
The model went on: "He truly blessed us that night & we will never forget it. That was one of the many things that Gregg did to bless my life.
"I am so saddened to hear of his passing. My heart and prayers go out to @neneleakes and her family. Gregg was a good man, so kind & so loving. I will miss him, and will always honor his memory with love."

Yesterday, A spokesperson told E! News: "Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart.
"After a , Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones, and wife NeNe Leakes.
"We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family &; allow them to mourn in private during this very, very difficult time."
, 53, and Gregg, , first tied the knot in 1997, before divorcing in 2011.
However, the pair would reunite and once again walk down the aisle in 2013.
They share , 22, and Gregg also helped raise NeNe's older son Bryson, 30.
Yesterday, The Neighborhood Talk, LLC's Instagram shared a post from reading: "Spend time with your loved ones every chance you get.
