Simon Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent and Walk The Line teams at war
BRITAIN’S Got Talent has given the public musical stars such as Paul Potts, Collabro and Susan Boyle.
But in future these hitmakers might come to our attention through a totally different entertainment show — Walk The Line.
Insiders on BGT say the production staff have got the hump because boss Simon Cowell— the genius behind both the long-running show and this new format — really wants the latter to be a hit.
They reckon it is going to be to the detriment of BGT, which is set to come back next year for its 15th series, as all of the best acts are being pushed towards Simon’s new musical game show.
A source said: “Simon really wants his new show to be a hit, so has tasked the talent scouts and producers to do all they can to make sure they have a great line-up.
“But the pool is only so big, so if they all go to Walk The Line that leaves BGT struggling.
“Simon has said he really wants the new show to become a global hit, and be able to franchise it around the world just like Got Talent, so he wants to do everything in his power to make it a success.
“He obviously cares a huge amount about BGT too, but he’s also really excited about his new venture.”

It follows last month’s announcement that Simon has called time on The X Factor.
Walk The Line is looking for talented vocalists and musicians to compete to win a life-changing amount of money — said to be half a million quid.
The format sees the acts offered the chance to cash out or try to play on and win the show, meaning they could risk it all to be a success – or crash and burn.

She’s got the patience of a saint.
Melvin's got big appetite
MELVIN Odoom is following in the frantic early morning footsteps of Richard Bacon and the late Keith Chegwin by becoming a roving reporter for The Big Breakfast.
The telly favourite will be pounding the streets giving away prizes while presenters Mo Gilligan and AJ Odudu front the iconic show, which is making a comeback after 20 years as part of Channel 4’s Black to Front project.
Melvin told me: “The Big Breakfast inspired me, and I’m sure many more of us in the industry, to get into TV back in the day.
“With its colourful chaos in the mornings, it looked like the most fun job in the world, so it’s a real dream come true to be part of the squad bringing the show back and giving it our own flavour.”
Other new signings for the one-off special, which airs next Friday, include chef BIG ZUU in the kitchen and singer RAYE, who will be singing the Wakey Wakey song from Lock Keeper’s Cottages in East London.
Phil Gayle returns to deliver the morning’s headlines and there’ll be new features alongside some nostalgic Big Breakfast classics including Family Of The Week, Super Hints and One Lump Or Two?
I’ve already set my alarm.
Take out tea, Jan?
BBC Morning Live was thrown into chaos yesterday after Janette Manrara managed to knock over a mug of tea.
The accident happened as co-host Gethin Jones told viewers what they could expect on the up-coming show in a crossover on BBC’s Breakfast programme.
The Welshman told fans at home: “If you have aches and pains or even a stiff back . . . don’t miss Strictly fitness. Janette has just the thing to make you feel good.”

In the background pro dancer Janette did a stretch to show everyone what exercises she would be performing and, as she spread her arms, over went the tea.
One cameraman shouted: “You’re meant to be a professional! You’re meant to be a professional!”
