LOVE Island's girls gave Liberty Poole a new bracelet to replace the one she gave back to ex boyfriend Jake Cornish.

The water engineer, 24, gifted the Nando's waitress, 21, a special piece of jewellery when he asked her to be his girlfriend on the ITV2 show.

The former flames - who coupled up on day one - were favourites to win at one point because of their genuine feelings towards one another.

However the pair went their separate ways just days before the final.

In a recent Q&A on Instagram, one intrigued fan asked Liberty what happened to the piece of jewellery after their split.

Liberty explained: "I gave the bracelet back to Jake that he bought me.

"The bracelet that I actually walked out with in the villa which obviously seen photos with me round was actually one the girls had given me up in the changing room.

"As sort of like a memory thing so that was like cute and I've still got it."

Four weeks into their relationship Jake asked Liberty if she wanted to put a label on it.

After the plummer gave Liberty her bracelet, she opened up about her feelings and told him that she loves him.

She said: "I've never connected with someone the way I have with you, ever.

"All cards on the table, I don't think I really knew what love was until I met you."

Jake replied: "I feel like I've found the one. Will you be my girlfriend?"

But cracks started to show in their relationship when Liberty found out that her boyfriend wasn't sexually attracted to her during Movie Night.

Producers played in a clip of a chat between Jake and Hugo Hammond into the villa.

The cocky lad said: "She's not all that.

"It's not 100 per cent. I haven't got the girl, that I'm like, f**k me, I want to rip her clothes off. I don't want to fake it, do you know what I mean?"

Liberty started to question Jake's feelings towards her and after he tried to stop her from celebrating with Kaz Kamwi after becoming exclusive with Tyler Cruickshank, alarm bells started to ring.

After a rough week the marketing student broke down in tears to pal Faye Winter and told her that she needed to end things.

Despite rumours that the pair wouldn't attend their final date, Liberty and Jake's scenes were filmed on a lavish yacht.

Liberty told Jake that she was going to leave the show and Jake said that he wouldn't let her do that alone.

They left the show days before the final and since then have reunited on ITV's breakfast show This Morning.

During the very awkward interview host Eamonn Holmes asked the pair to kiss and Liberty refused.

Jake also hinted that he would like to see where things go back in the UK, but the blonde beauty had other ideas.
