Love Island’s ’embarrassed’ Faye breaks silence on furious Teddy row that got 25,000 complaints and says ‘we’re over it’
LOVE Island’s Faye Winter has admitted that she’s “embarrassed” of her furious row with Teddy Soares that sparked 25,000 Ofcom complaints – but insisted they’re “over it”.
The 26-year-old estate agent broke her silence on the controversial outburst live on Lorraine today, adding that she is yet to watch it back.
Faye and Teddy are currently isolating separately after arriving back in the UK, and appeared on the morning show via video call.
Host Christine Lampard kicked off the interview with the couple by asking about the bust-up, to which Faye matter-of-factly replied: “I actually haven’t watched it back, we were living it, we were in the moment, and know exactly what happened.
“Obviously it’s not nice for everyone to see, I’m embarrassed, I’ve apologised on more than once occasion, but we’re over it now as a couple.”
She defiantly added: “It’s made us stronger, and we’re just looking forward to the future – it’s such a shame it’s been such a big part of the show.”
Teddy also defended the moment, telling Christine: “We understand each other quite well so I could definitely see why she would be annoyed. It was a surreal moment that would never happen in the real world, I was devastated that I hurt her, I never like to see her cry – it was painful to see.”
Love Island fans were horrified when Faye mocked, berated, and screamed at Teddy after being left unhappy by a video clip she was shown of him in Casa Amor.
The hunk had admitted that he found bombshell Clarisse attractive, which left Faye furious.
Viewers called for her to be booted out of the villa at the time as they flocked to TV regulator Ofcom in their thousands, and were stunned when Teddy took her back the following week.
The pair went on to land third place in Monday night’s final, and have since shared plans to move in together.
Faye has said that while they plan to get a place of their own, she will be spending half of the time back at home in Devon as they are still in the “honeymoon period”.
