Will there be a series 2 of Undeniable?

Unfortunately for fans, there are no plans in place to continue the series and it's not likely that a second series will be made.

ITV are airing the old show on August 18, 2021 and August 25, 2021 as a repeat - but this doesn't seem to signal a revival, as most major channels have been forced to re-run some archive shows this year after filming new material ground to a halt during the pandemic.

The two part series is also being made available on the channel's streaming service The ITV Hub for some time after its' 2021 broadcast.

What happened in series 1?

Undeniable follows the tale of Jane Phillips, a young woman fighting to bring her mother's murderer to justice.

Jane witnessed her mother's murder aged just seven and the show catches up with her 23 years later as a married woman with kids of her own.

Pregnant with her second child, Jane visits the hospital and becomes convinced that one of the oncologists, Andrew Rawlins, is her mother's killer and contacts the police.

Despite skepticism from her father and husband - not to mention the fact that Andrew's blood doesn't appear to match crime scene evidence - Jane remains steadfast in the belief that she has, at long last, caught the crook.

In the second part of the series, we catch up with Andrew, who's Lawyer daughter Emma is trying to persuade to sue the police after his DNA seemingly exonerates him.

Andrew is reluctant to do so, however, even when Jane assaults him in a fit of rage and Andrew seeks a restraining order against the pregnant mother.

How does the first series end?

Despite her family's skepticism, Jane is surprisingly able to find an ally in the case detective Allison Hall.

She's also approached by a nurse who claims that Andrew has a history of sexual assault and the Doctor's ex-wife who says he was also violent towards her during their marriage.

As the evidence against her father begins to stack up, we're also treated to the tough emotional journey of Andrew's daughter Emma, who slowly realizes that her faith in him was misplaced.

Eventually it's revealed that Jane's hunch was correct after all - Andrew did kill her mother and had circumvented DNA procedures to avoid getting caught.
