AN Antiques Road Trip expert ripped into a 'crude and clumpy' jug - but was left stunned by what happened next.
Angus Ashworth spotted the item while searching for treasures in a recent episode of the BBC show.
Picking it up, he said: "Bit different… the body of it is lovely decorated, all hand-worked, you’ve got the dove the symbol or piece, the Fleur de Lis and then you’ve got this central panel here with the three fish.”
The narrator added: "Representing the Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit."
Angus continued: "Really nicely worked, the quality of the body would suggest to me something like Newlyn School or one of the Arts & Crafts ones there.
"Then we’ve got the spout, which is a little bit crude, I don’t think it had a spout originally because you can see the details underneath where the spout goes right over the top of one of those doves.
“And the handle again feels a bit clumpy compared to the rest of the body, so i think really, the answer to that is to see what it is on price.”
He headed over to the seller with the jug and two other items, and agreed a price of £100 for the lot.

At auction, Angus and fellow expert Steven Moore were both still trying to make a profit when the jug came up.
The auctioneer began: "£70 online, £70 bid, £70 online, I’ll take £5, £70 in the sale room?”
While Angus pleaded for a little bit more, the jug sold for £75, which he was pleased about.
He said: "£35, so I’ve doubled! That was good."
