Emmerdale fans shocked as Sammy Winward, 35, reveals lookalike daughter Mia, 16, as she follows her into acting

EMMERDALE star Sammy Winward appeared alongside her lookalike daughter Mia on Loose Women today.

The actress, 35, who played Katie Sugden in the ITV soap for years, spoke about her close friendship with the 16-year-old.

Just like her mum, Sammy is keen to be an actress - even saying she'd be delighted to bag a job in Emmerdale.

Saying she'd love a role in film or in a soap she told the panel: "Any role that would be like that I'd be over the moon."

Fans were stunned, with one tweeting: "Awww, her daughter is cute."

Born in 2005, Mia is Sammy's daughter with former Blackburn Rovers footballer David Dunn, who she split from that same year.

The teen is around the same age Sammy was when she made her Emmerdale debut as Katie aged 15.

She and her daughter were left giggling on Loose Women today when they played her first ever scene, alongside co-star Kelvin Fletcher.

Kaye Adams said: "Looking at the two of you, Mia I hope I'm all right saying this, you really are the spitting image of your mum."

She replied: "I mean, hopefully" with Sammy replying: "Oh, thank you."

The actress went on: "I was young when I had Mia, I was 19. I always thought I'm going to be 36 when she's 18 and I'm nearly there now.

"Mia is 16 - she's 18 in a few years. We just feel like best mates really. I mean, mother and daughter relationship obviously but best mates really."
