Gypsy millionaire Alfie Best shocks employee with life-changing sum of money after undercover ordeal
GYPSY millionaire Alfie Best shocked an employee with a life-changing sum of money after his undercover ordeal.
Alfie, owner of Wyldecrest Parks, went undercover to make sure his staff are making the most of this golden moment for his company in Thursday's episode of Undercover Big Boss.
The Europe's largest park operator told his son he's "going to go undercover and find out any problems in the business."
The first gypsy billionaire's company is worth around £750million.
The caravan king told viewers: "I'm a Romany gypsy, I'm a gypsy through and through and sometimes I pinch myself."
He has a very lavish lifestyle revealing he has houses around the world, a Lamborghini sofa and a car worth £1.6million.
The 51-year-old informed viewers he started out cleaning sewages.
Alfie went uncover at Penwortham Park in Preston and met maintenance manager Julio, 65, who faces many maintenance complaints from residents daily.
Residents hail Julio as a good worker who gets plumbing problems sorted straight away.
PAY RISE
Alfie asked Julio when he got a pay rise and he said it was only an extra 50p an hour.
When asked if he struggles to survive on his salary, Julio replied: "Yes, especially when you've got all these bills to pay. Sometimes I struggle."
Alfie said: "I was a bit taken aback and shocked. And I get the impression Julio is getting the brunt of this on a daily basis.
"I found failings. When the resident aren't getting feedback that creates festering of bad feeling and Julio is getting the complaints."
Vowing to improve their complaints procedure and give Julio more support, Alfie wanted to reward him with a much-needed pay rise and a £5,000 bonus.
Also in the episode, viewers met dedicated sales manager Richard who lives on the park five days a week.
He admitted to struggling with the work life balance as he is spending less time with his daughters.
Alfie decided to treat Richard and his family to an all-expenses paid two-week holiday to Barbados.
Then it came to Donna, who learned the company would invest £250,000 to expand her business and treble her profits by installing new swimming pools, conservatories and a new games room with pool tables.
