Love Island’s Aaron Francis family heartbroken as he’s targeted by vile racist trolls
LOVE Island's Aaron Francis has been targeted by vile racist trolls that have left his family heartbroken.
The events host, 24, has been part of the original cast and survived four weeks in the villa - with his family taking over his social media profiles.
In a statement shared on Instagram today they told how he has been attacked online by racists who have bombarded the villa favourite with direct messages and comments on his posts.
The family shared one shocking comment but said there had been hundreds more where people had used offensive slurs and racist language.
They said: "We're shocked and frustrated by the racist comments and messages that Aaron has been receiving since the very beginning of his Love Island experience.
"There has been no end to monkey and gorilla emojis commented on his posts and horrible, abusive, racist messages in hi dm's.
"This is only only one example of what we have witnessed and we need to call out this intolerable behaviour."
Love Island has already been hit with one race row this series after bombshell Danny Bibby was found to have used a racist slur on a historic Instagram post.
He was allowed to apologise from the villa but fans slammed the show for allowing him to remain.
Former contestant Sherif Lane also accused ITV of double standards.
He was sent packing in 2019 for saying “that’s a c*** punt” after accidentally kicking co-star Molly-Mae Hague in the crotch — and hit out at the decision.
The 22-year-old told The Sun: “ITV have shown complete double standards when it comes to racism. They don’t seem to care.
“A white guy has been allowed to apologise from inside the villa for using the N word and carry on filming, whereas I was removed for play fighting and doing something by accident.
“The N word shouldn’t be used and this contestant should be removed from the house like I was, especially after the England football team were racially abused this week. ITV need to set an example.

“I also reported a contestant, who I will not name, who repeatedly used the N-word as he rapped in front of me - two or three times and he was not pulled aside. It’s really unfair. It’s disgusting.”
A Love Island spokesperson responded to Sherif's claims and said: “We monitor the islanders 24/7 and we have no recording of the use of this alleged language.
“At no point did anyone use that language in rap lyrics or any other time. We do have clear rules on the use of language in the villa.”
