BBC boss snubs plea from furious Tory MPs to put Little Britain back on iPlayer

WOKE BBC bosses have snubbed a plea from Tory MPs to put comedy smash-hit Little Britain back on iPlayer.

A handful of anti-PC backbenchers privately confronted Corporation chief Tim Davie over the "censorship" - but he said there was no way the controversial noughties show was going back online.

Little Britain was removed from iPlayer and BritBox last summer following a backlash at its use of blackface.

In his reply to the group Mr Davie stuck to the view that ";some of its portrayals had become outdated".

He pointed out creators David Walliams and Matt Lucas were themselves ashamed about playing characters of different races.

Yet Ipswich MP Tom Hunt blasted the decision - and branded it an insult to the millions who still find the show funny.

He told The Sun: "By the leadership of the BBC removing it from the iPlayer and providing us with this explanation - that feels like censorship.

"They're basically saying to anyone that finds it funny - there's something wrong with you, you're stuck in the dark ages and we as the BBC don't approve of your sense of humour.

"For an organisation that I wish would be neutral about these issues, it just doesn't fill me with confidence about the future direction of the BBC."

Mr Hunt and his colleagues tried their luck with new director-general Mr Davie after seeking assurances he would keep to his impartiality drive.

Mr Davie had previously vowed to crackdown on Beeb biases and put Tory-bashing staff on notice they would face action.
