Furious Love Island fans complain to Ofcom as stomach-churning food-spitting task takes place despite pandemic
LOVE Island fans said they will complain to TV watchdog Ofcom after a gruesome task where stars spat food into one another's mouths went ahead last night.
One viewer raged: "That food challenge was disgusting. Please don’t ever do that again. Spitting? Plus we literally still have COVID."

Both the boys and girls looked horrified when they were forced to serve a roast dinner and all the trimmings by passing food from containers to plates using their mouths.
The aim of the game was to do it in record time - with the girls regurgitating the food passed from the boys back back onto a plate.
The gut-churning fun began when Millie, 24, got a text which read: "Islanders. Get ready to make a meal of it in today’s couples challenge Spit the Roast. #meatandtwoveg #itsallgravy"
After throwing meat at the girls in the first round, the boys then grabbed chunks of food - including vegetables and gravy - to the girls using only their mouths.
Things turned chaotic when Brad started a food fight and poured bread sauce all over Liam.
Liberty and Jake finally crowned Millie and Liam the winners after they presented the most complete plate of food at the end of the challenge.
But viewers slammed the segment admitting they never wanted to see it on the show again.

One fan said: "Can we all agree we’re writing to Ofcom after that challenge so we no longer have to watch it for future series? I’m traumatised"
Another begged on Twitter: "@LoveIsland @itv2 @Ofcom That spitting challenge was BEYOND appalling. Please bring back the: 1. Tweets Challenge 2. Lie Detector Test 3. Baby Challenge Let’s stir things up ffs!"

It comes after the Islanders were forced out of the filming area last week as the villa underwent a deep clean after an intruder broke into the mansion.
The YouTuber was removed by security before he came into contact with any of the Islanders, but the programme’s strict Covid guideline meant the place had to be sanitized before it could be used again.

A Love Island spokesman said: "Last night a security breach was identified and an intruder was removed from the villa with immediate effect.
"The safety of both our islanders and our production crew remains our primary concern.
"As part of our stringent Covid safety measures, the villa area that was trespassed has been fully deep cleaned before being made accessible again to the islanders and crew"
