Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen hits back at critics as she’s slammed for wearing ‘stilettos and a body-con dress’
OUR Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen has hit back at critics after she was slammed for wearing 'stilettos and a body-con dress'.
The 46-year-old shepherdess runs a busy farm, Ravenseat in Yorkshire, with her husband Clive, 67, and nine children.
While Amanda is mostly seen out and about in comfy farming clothes, she has been known to glam up on occasion, showing off her enviable figure in the process.
But during a conversation with Simon Armitage on the next episode of The Poet Laureate Has Gone to His Shed, Amanda hit back at critics who say she is "no longer a shepherd" by doing so.
Speaking about her TV career, she said: "It’s made me incredibly busy but, if you can imagine, it all began with books really.
"Of course there was the series The Dales six or seven years ago and we were just a small part of that, that was really I suppose the beginning of doing other things.
“But with the emphasis being on farming and diversification it’s a diversification, just like you might have a farm shop or a camp site or whatever.
“Maybe it’s a bit of a strange diversification but if you can make living out of writing about sheep, and taking photographs of sheep, as well as wrestling them to the ground and shearing them, then all well and good.
“And anybody who wishes to say: ‘Well you’re not a shepherd anymore because you’ve got a pair of stilettos on and a body-con dress’."
She concluded: "I will say: ‘Oh yes I am’, because it’s still all about the farm and all about the sheep at the end of the day.”

Last month, Amanda hit back after being told to 'put some clothes on' following a skin-bearing snap.
And this week, Amanda posed for a sexy calendar for 2022 out and about around the farm.
