EastEnders’ Tamzin Outhwaite breaks silence on saving three children from drowning – calling it ‘traumatic’
EASTENDERS' Tamzin Outhwaite has broken her silence on saving three children from drowning, calling the experience "traumatic".
On Tuesday, The Sun revealed that the 50-year-old actress had leaped into the water fully clothed when the under-10s got into difficulty.
She has now addressed the incident on her social media page, thanking followers for their kind messages as she opened up for the first time.
Tamzin wrote: ";Thank you for the many messages I received regarding recent stories in publications about me saving three children from drowning.
"They were all from the same family, who could not swim, and I did not know them.
"It was traumatic for all but I am just relieved that they are all ok."
Tamzin had been at a seventh-birthday bash at a friend's outdoor pool when the incident occurred.
She was standing poolside when the children got into trouble, and didn't even pause to put her mobile phone down before diving in.
One witness told us this week: "Tamzin is a hero. She leapt into the water without hesitation. It was very dramatic.
“Without a second’s doubt she entered the pool and plucked the youngest child to safety, before grabbing the other two.
“She reacted so fast that nobody else had even gone into the water by the time they were all safe.
“There were a couple of doctors at the party who checked the kids were OK and gave them a clean bill of health. But it left many people shaken.”

Tamzin was congratulated and thanked by other grateful parents at the bash in North London on June 5.
The star shot to fame playing Mel in EastEnders.
She is currently loved-up with documentary-maker Tom Child, 30, who she met at a yoga class in 2017.
She is mum to 12-year-old Flora, and eight-year-old Marnie, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Ellis.
