Love Island bosses are ‘manipulating Chloe Burrows’ to pretend she’s a man-eater & her pal works on the show, ex claims
CHLOE Burrows has been manipulated by Love Island bosses to pretend she is a man-eater, and she KNOWS one of the show’s producers, her ex claims.
Personal trainer Lewis Fowler, who dated the stunning contestant for five years, says she is really just “timid” and “shy”.

He said last night: “The Chloe on screen isn’t who I’ve known for five years. I know Chloe has been told to play the role of a blonde bombshell trying to tempt the boys away from the other girls.
“I think the producers have told her that if she acts a certain way she will go far on the show.”
Londoner Lewis, who met Chloe in 2016 when she was studying at Liverpool University and later “practically lived” at her flat in the capital, reveals she boasted of her links to the ITV2 reality series when they watched it together previously.
He said: “Chloe told me she knew one of the producers on Love Island, through a work colleague. She was obsessed with the behind-the-scenes action and how they manipulate situations and make people have conversations.
"It’s all fake and set-up. Chloe has been taken in by them, acting all confident and feisty. She’s actually timid, shy and sweet.”
And he reckons the blokes on the show are too tame for her — because she loves bad boys. He said: “Chloe’s not looking for clean-cut men. She told me she loves bad boys who she can’t take home to her parents.”
Lewis also revealed HE is the person Chloe calls when she is boozed up — and not “the married boss” who she claimed, in her VT for the show, she drunk-dials.
He said: “That story was about her boss, who she fancied. It was massively exaggerated. She hasn’t worked with him for years. It’s me she always calls and texts when she’s drunk — I’ve got the receipts on my phone as proof.
“The (Love Island) producers knew what they were doing with that video.” To stir up drama, Chloe arrived later than the rest of the cast and went on dates with all five lads before coupling up with events boss Aaron Francis.
The move caused his partner Shannon Singh to be dramatically dumped from the villa and led to a backlash from fans. Lewis now fears Chloe will be appalled when she leaves the show and discovers she has received hundreds of death threats from online trolls.
He said: “She isn’t spiteful at all and used to do a lot of crying on the phone to me. I don’t think Chloe realises the pressure the show can bring. She will be upset to learn she has had death threats. I don’t know how she’ll handle it.”
Chloe previously admitted she skipped Love Island’s lengthy application process after its producers approached her to take part.
‘One that got away’
Two weeks before going on, she rang Lewis out of the blue with the news.
He said: “Our relationship had already cooled off, but she called to tell me she was going on the show.
“She was worried that I would jeopardise their plan for her, as I could blow her cover and reveal what she’s really like.
"I think she wants the fame and money, as she was always worried about job security.
“She’d love to be an influencer and I think producers have promised she’ll get huge amounts of followers once she plays this character.”
Although Chloe would have liked their romance to have developed into something more serious, Lewis doesn’t see a future for them.
He said: “I’ll always be the one that got away for Chloe. We went through too many ups and downs for it to ever work out.
“I hope she does meet someone on the show but I don’t think it’ll be like that. She used to tell me she loved me and I know she’s not over me yet.”
Last week in a statement, Chloe’s family said they had received death threats aimed at their daughter and disturbing messages from vulnerable viewers who said they wanted to kill themselves.
They asked if nothing had been learned from the suicides of Love Island 2016 star Sophie Gradon, 32, 2017’s Mike Thalassitis, 26, and show host Caroline Flack, 40.
A source close to Chloe said: “It’s disappointing to hear her mischaracterised in this way.
“She is always herself and we’re enjoying watching the Chloe we know and love on screen each night.”
Chloe pals’ trolls vow
CHLOE BURROWS’ family and friends last night vowed to help police hunt down the trolls who have targeted her.
The marketing executive has been hit by a wave of vile abuse after entering the villa.
Her supporters said in a statement: “We are extremely disappointed and saddened. To receive death threats and see the malicious vitriol that exists online first-hand is incredibly distressing and we are apprehensive for Chloe to leave the villa and observe this herself.
“We must stand tall together and demand change from online platforms like Instagram to safeguard our loved ones when they need it most.
“We will be doing everything in our power to protect Chloe and will support Thames Valley Police in their efforts to track down these perpetrators.”
LIB AGONY OVER CHEATING LOVER
LIBERTY POOLE’s best pal has revealed how the Love Islander was left devastated when she found out her last boyfriend cheated on her.
Bubbly Brummie Liberty has told on the show how she was betrayed by an ex. Now Paige Skinner says the Nando’s waitress and Birmingham University marketing student was blindsided by the revelation.
Paige, who has known Liberty since she was 11, said: “Lib has had a rocky love life. Her relationship with her ex was very on-off for about two years. He cheated on her last September and that was when it ended.
"She was heartbroken. I think she found out because the other girl told her. He wasn’t having a full-on affair but he made a mistake and that was enough for Lib. Lib has never really felt loved and that is what she’s looking for on the show.”
Paige is now backing her pal to bag Love Island’s £50,000 prize with her water engineer love interest Jake Cornish. She said: “I hope they stay together, they could win. He’s cute and they seem good together. But whatever happens, Lib will be OK because she’s so strong.
“She is exactly the person she is on the outside in the villa, so confident and bubbly. She’s that girl that will give you a compliment in a nightclub toilet.”
MASERATI HAS BECKS FACTOR
DAVID BECKHAM is designing his own Maserati supercar.
He jetted out last month to the home of the brand, Modena in Italy, to begin work on his own bespoke model.
A source told us: “David is loving his partnership with Maserati.
"As someone who has always had an eye for design and detail, the next natural step is for him to customise and create his own car which will be bespoke to him.”
Becks has spent millions adding to his expansive supercar collection, including a Lamborghini Gallardo, 1969 Porsche 911, Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead and 1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage X- Pack Volante . . . which apparently means something to car lovers.
Why just be Goldenballs when you can also have a set of Goldenwheels?
CAM AND EM STILL HOT PAIR
TOO Hot To Handle fans have been wondering if Emily Faye Miller and Cam Holmes have gone the distance since the second season’s finale aired last week.
Now we can reveal the London model and Welsh personal trainer are not only still an item, they are moving in together.
The gorgeous couple have gone from strength to strength since filming on the Netflix dating show’s latest run ended at the end of last year.
A well-placed LA source says: “They are head-over-heels and ready to start the next chapter by renting a luxury apartment in London.
"Brands are also falling over themselves to sign them, with a £1million Boohoo deal in the works.”
Love Islanders, take note.
Ed and Anne Goggleboxing
ED SHEERAN has joined in an episode of Celebrity Gogglebox with pal Anne Marie, we can reveal.
Bad Habits superstar Ed filmed for the Channel 4 show on Friday after his pop pal persuaded him to join her on the sofa for some telly viewing.
Anne Marie said of the episode, which will air next Friday: “I’ve asked one of my best friends, Ed Sheeran, to join me on Gogglebox.
“I haven’t seen him in real life for so, so long and when we used to hang out, we would always watch lots of TV. So it will be like old times. I can’t wait.”
Anne Marie has also appeared on the series with Sir Tom Jones, her fellow mentor on The Voice. Ed previously appeared on the show’s Stand Up To Cancer special in 2017, alongside pals Big Narstie and Example – but it was Anne Marie’s cajoling that brought him back to the sofa.
Having recruited not one but two A-listers for the series, we reckon Channel 4 bosses should be offering her a job on the casting team any day now.
PALOMA’S BIT OF A COPYCAT
PALOMA FAITH made her first foray into interior design last month with new brand Paloma Home – but while we love her playful prints, a few do look a little familiar.
Londoner Paloma seems, er, heavily inspired by some more expensive designs from House Of Hackney.
And while their tiger cushion will set you back an eye-watering £195, Paloma’s version is just £43.
Launching her range, Stone Cold Sober singer Paloma said: “A lot of stuff in the maximalist world is really over-priced.
"I often see things and think, ‘I’m not spending £400 on a cushion’.”
She will certainly not be a fan of Boris Johnson's £840-a-roll wallpaper, then.
PRO’S POSITIVELY SILLY
PROFESSOR GREEN has set up an Instagram called The Unlikely Dads Club – after becoming a father himself.
It is even sponsored by nappy firm Pampers.
The rapper told Paul McKenna's Positivity podcast: “I started it to create a platform where people can ask silly questions.
"We talk about things nobody prepares you for.”
Pro, who has four-month-old son Slimane with his Deep State actress girlfriend Karima McAdams, said of parenting: “I’ve wondered if I’ll ever sleep again or function without five coffees.”
But asked what he likes, he said: “My child waking me by farting and talking even, if it’s three o’clock in the morning.”
AH, POOR NIGELLA
SHE is worth around £14million but Nigella Lawson reckons this has nothing to do with her 20-year stint at the BBC, as she has hinted Auntie doesn’t pay well.
During a new interview for US podcast Special Sauce, the host asked her how she had dealt with fame over the years – and quoted the late Hollywood actor Kirk Douglas, who once said: “The only recompense for fame is wealth.”

Domestic goddess Nigella then replied: “Yes, but Kirk Douglas didn’t work for the BBC!”
The celebrity chef and cookbook queen also insisted she had swerved the celebrity lifestyle in favour of a quiet home life with her two children.

She said: “I don’t go out to film premieres, I don’t dress up, I’m clumping around at home because I’ve had children to bring up.”
Chin up, Nigella, you’ve got a new cookbook to promote.
