LINDA Robson has denied feuding with Birds of a Feather co-star Pauline Quirke and insisted it wasn't why the show ended.

The Loose Women panellist, 63, played Tracey, the sister to Pauline's character Sharon on the classic BBC sitcom from 1989 to 1998.

The show was rebooted by ITV in 2014 before finally facing the chop in May of this year.

It was originally reported Pauline and Linda fell out, leading to "real and tense issues" behind-the-scenes.

This allegedly led to Pauline dropping out of the 2019 festive episode.

However, Linda appeared to rubbish rumours of a rift today - insisting the pair are still pals.

Speaking to hosts Kate Garraway and Adil Ray on Thursday's Good Morning Britain, she said: "We haven't had a falling out, Pauline don't wanna act any more, she wants to concentrate on her academy.

"You've got to respect her wishes. We did the Christmas special, they asked us if we'd like to do it and we said yes."

Linda also said she wouldn't want to do the show on her own, adding: "I'm not sure if I'd be able to do it on my own.

"Lesley looks amazing. She's 73 now and she looks the same as she did all those years ago."

It was thought the rumoured fall-outs meant Pauline was left out of last year’s Christmas special, and her character was written out as being "stuck on a Covid cruise".

Linda made it clear Pauline could have taken part in the highly anticipated Christmas special last year – but she didn't want to.

Linda told Express that the cast and audiences have to "respect" Pauline's "choice" and said it was her former co-star's decision to "focus on her academies".

She explained: "Obviously people miss Pauline, but we have to respect that it was her choice not to do it anymore.

Linda continued: "When they (the producers) asked us, we were like, ‘Yeah we would still like to do it. We’re not ready to finish.

"I think it worked really well as they did a good script, and we did the best we could with it."
